The manual fire Caldera-S is a perfect starter kiln
for any beginner, as well as being ideal for the
more professional fuser working with small detailed
pieces, or carrying out test firings. The great
benefit of this kiln compared with other models of
a similar size is that no special wiring is
required - you can just plug in and fire using
any ordinary household mains socket.
● Square firing chamber has a 203mm (8") x
203mm (8") opening and is 172mm (6¾") deep,
with top quality insulating bricks in the wall,
bottom and hinged and ‘chain stayed’ lid.
● Heating elements in the side walls enable even
heat distribution in the chamber with no cold spots
in the corners; perfect for jewellery makers and
glass painters when stack firing. As an added
bonus you can also update your Caldera-S for bead
annealing by adding the bead collar (see right).
● The heating elements are semi-enclosed into
recess grooves, so no pins are needed to hold
them into place - giving the advantage that
nothing will fall onto your work during fusing.
● A cut off switch automatically disconnects the
power supply when the lid is lifted thus allowing
you to check any on-going work inside.
● Clips have been added to the sides of the kiln
to hold the separate parts of the kiln together,
making it more safe and secure.
● Four firebrick blocks are included - these must
be placed under the kiln during firing to
avoid damage to your work surface. |
