The
range is a superb breakthrough in fusing as, to our knowledge, it is the first sheet glass
that is coloured throughout to be made compatible with float glass, and is from an established
manufacturer that already has a full range of cathedral and opalescent colours.
The current European manufacturers, as with our
range, produce float compatible glass by
coating the base glass with an enamel coating that looks like glass when fired. The disadvantage of this
method is that stripes cannot be fused together as the surface coating contracts slightly on cooling and
leaves a clear strip between the colours. Additionally, if the coating is chipped at the edge it will show
through on the finished piece as clear glass.
Youghiogheny
enables you to produce clean coloured stripes (which can be overlaid) and will
fuse onto float glass.
This glass is competitively priced and is fully compatible with
, resulting in a much wider
range of available colours.
